Black Light
In collaboration with Adreenah Wynn | 2016
Black Light is a series of individual stories woven together to form one greater and interpersonal narrative. We wanted to bring to light the raw emotions of what it is like living with an identity that doesn’t fit within the expected stereotypes of today’s society. We placed each individual in the dark to keep the viewer from projecting any racial bias but as they told their stories the viewer becomes more aware of the stereotypes they have to live with.

Dusk
Independent Project | 2015
I created this video as a way to stop and reflect on how easily time escapes us. The fact that we even measure time is unique only to humans. When going about our busy days we hardly notice the moment that the day becomes night. If Dusk had something to say what you that be?
El Barrio

In Home I make a series of videos about my upbringing. I grew in a low income house hold in rural Florida, and this is my way of sharing my story. This is a short video depicting the neighborhood where I grew up. The window panels serve to illustrate a barrier that exists between a social economic statuses.
Mi Casa
Home Series | 2016
I hardly remember my early childhood. There was constant movement of people and places. I found so many old home videos that my dad made and as I watched them I was flooded with memories that had long been forgotten. This is a compilation of home videos to depict my young life as part of migrant family. Like many childhood memories these clips are often incomplete.
Home Series | 2016
This video focuses on the deconstruction and the brokenness of my family. I didn’t grow up in a perfect home and my family always had issues. The image comes through in fragments and even those fragments are broken. Yet there is still a unifying sense of love that comes across as we all try to be happy for my youngest siblings. I captured these abstract moments trying to hold on to this memory before it disappears entirely. The final video was projected onto 3 pieces of plexiglass hung from the ceiling to bring the notion of fragmentation into the physical space.
Class Project | 2014
This piece was part of an installation for my class. The concept was to show nature retaking life after being destroyed. I was inspired by the process of regeneration after a volcanic eruption and it brought to my mind questions of whether or not nature will be able to survive humans. This video takes an optimistic side to that argument.
Life on Seahorse Key
In collaboration with Adreenah Wynn | 2015
Seahorse Key is an island that is uninhabited for most of the year and the only time that people are allowed on it is for research. I had the opportunity to join my classmates and science students to visit this island and spend the weekend. During our time there it was strange that there were still human traces on this island, the most noticeable one is the lighthouse. In this video we tried to convey the idea that no matter how removed humans try to be from a natural habitat we still leave our traces.
Cleansing
Class Project | 2013
Feet can be one of the dirtiest parts of our bodies. The paint and sand represents overwhelming troubles of our everyday lives. The strong waves of the ocean are acting violently towards the feet but at the same time they are becoming clean. It is a contrast between violent forces of nature and our feet which are the support for the rest of our bodies.
